The Academic Programme at Cedar House
The school provides a balanced and stimulating academic programme, designed to bring out the best in each individual. Classes are small, averaging approximately 20.
Grades 8 and 9. Learners are exposed to all of these learning areas:
• English Home Language
• Afrikaans First Additional Language
• Xhosa First Additional Language
• Arts and Culture
• Economic Management Science
• Natural Sciences
• Social Sciences
• Life Orientation
• Mathematics
• Technology
• Conversational French in Grade 8
In Grade 10, 11 and 12 the following subjects are offered:
• English Home Language
• Afrikaans or Xhosa First Additional Language
• Mathematics or Mathematics Literacy
• Life Orientation
The above four subjects are compulsory.
In addition, learners chose three additional subjects from the following:
• Accounting
• Computer Applications Technology
• Life Sciences
• Geography
• History
• Physical Sciences
• Design
• Visual Art
• Dramatic Arts
